Activity 1
This week you will become a pirate and write your own pirate story.
You will be writing in first person which means you will refer to yourself as I, myself, me, my.
You have used a story mountain before and you will be using one again to help you plan your story. There is a copy below.
After each activity, read through your work and make any corrections. You are going to start writing one paragraph describing the characters. Use the word bank and list of adjectives to help you and make your writing more interesting. In our class story ‘The Enchanted Forest’ one of the characters was....
A kind and caring princess with brown hair and a yellow dress.
Activity 2
Today you are going to create the setting for your story.
The setting for the story we created in class about Prince Ronald and the Princess was...
An enchanted forest filled with tall green trees, pink, red and blue flowers. There was a river in front of a pretty, cosy cottage.
Use the word bank below to help you. Write one paragraph about the setting.
Activity 3
Today you will be creating an exciting problem in your story.
In our class story ‘The Enchanted Forest’ the problem was...
The green eyed, evil lion that took Ronald away.
Use the word bank below to help you. Write one paragraph about the problem.
Activity 4
Resolution.
Today you will be writing one paragraph about the resolution within your story.
Remember that the resolution is how the problem is solved. Did another pirate help you to resolve the problem? Did a sea monster help or maybe an old fiddler?
In our class story ‘The Enchanted Forest’ the resolution was...
The princess rescued Ronald.
Activity 5
Ending.
Well done, you have almost finished your story. Today you will be writing the ending of your story as a pirate. Here you can use connectives such as finally, in the end, after that and lastly.
