Activity 2

Please watch this classic version of the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and discuss it with your child.

Next can you ask your child the following questions:

Who are the characters in the story?

Why did Jack have to sell the cow?

What did Jack get in return for the cow?

Was his mum happy?

What did she do with the beans?

What was special about the beans?

Who did Jack find at the top of the beanstalk?

Why did Jack and his mother become rich?

What sort of ending does the story have?

Activity 3

Imagine you have climbed to the top of the beanstalk. What might you find when you get there? Draw or paint a picture of what you would like to find at the top of the beanstalk.

Please watch this lovely story about Jack and the Beanstalk with your child on BBC website and discuss it. The story is made out of 14 short episodes. Please talk to your child about each episode and what happened in it.

Activity 5

Listen to the Jack and the Beanstalk songs. Choose one and try to learn it with your child.
