Activity 1

For the next couple of weeks we are going to do lots of work around minibeasts. For our first English lesson this week please listen to ‘The Very Busy Spider’ by Eric Carle. Do you know any other stories by him? Try to join with some of the words.

Activity 2

Using the letters in the word minibeast, what other words can you make? E.g. bin. It might be easier to write each letter on a post-it note or separate bits of paper.

Next do the following activity; match the picture with the captions. 

Activity 3

Can you draw and label your own spider? How many legs does it have? What is special about your spider?

Next do the following activity: 

Activity 4

Can you make some facts cards about some of the minibeasts? Draw a picture of each minibeast and write a profile of it. E.g. It has….. It eats…. It lives …..

Today can you read the sentences below. Can you write your own ones about the minibeasts you like?
